While I was a practicing MD I attended an unofficial presentation about Homeopathy a doctor gave in his hotel suite where we were both attending a medical conference. I was intrigued and I then purchased several homeopathy books but I was busy with my then current career and I had not done anything with them. Then my son was born and he had colic. I tried everything but we were up with a crying baby until 1, 2, or 3 am every single night for weeks. I finally pulled out my homeopathy books and tried a few remedies without success. In only one of the 4 books I had, another potential colic remedy was mentioned (dioscorea). From what I could read, it seemed like it fit his particular colic quite well. I gave it to him that evening. To a totally exhausted first time mother, nothing short of a miracle occurred – he went to sleep at maybe 9pm, slept 5 hours straight, woke up, nursed and easily went back to sleep for another long stretch. The next day, he actually took a nap in the bassinet my mother had sewn beautiful coverings for.

That started my journey of taking courses and learning homeopathy, but for many years I mostly only worked with family members and my animals. Around the time of the pandemic arriving, I knew it was time for me to get very serious about homeopathy and I then attended a 4 year training program at Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy. In this stage of my healing career, I no longer practice as a traditional medicine doctor. I am now a Certified Classical Homeopath (CCH) and do strictly homeopathy.

A diagnosis is usually not necessary in homeopathy. Rather the whole of YOU is what is important. I now pay attention to all those details of symptoms that clients had often mentioned that were unique to them. As an MD I had been trained to ignore that information, now it holds valuable keys. I have had years of additional training in the newer methods of taking and analyzing a homeopathic case (sensation methods and developmental stage approaches). My job is to understand you as deeply as I can so I can use a homeopathic remedy to “jump start” your body’s own incredibly powerful healing mechanisms that have gotten a bit off track. I find so much satisfaction using the homeopathic tools I have to help people.
